Yesterday, the Kindergarten classes at HTE went on an outing to the Jack Byrne Arena for our first Skating session. We were lucky to have so many parents and grandparents available to come help lace up skates and secure helmets! I know everyone had a wonderful time on the rink - some already confident on skates, while some were just learning. I know I wouldn't have been very steady if I had gone out on the ice - I feel much more comfortable as a spectator!! I think I managed to snap a photo of all of my little friends at the rink - but if not I will have another chance at our next session on Thursday, March 31st - I know we're all looking forward to it!

This week, our class learned about all kinds of exciting things! We focused on the letter Gg (G dur comme gorille et G doux comme giraffe), continued learning about 3-D solids, and took some time to investigate Groundhog Day. We made our own predictions on whether or not the groundhog would see his shadow and checked to see if we were correct - seems like we will be having 6 more weeks of winter. Yesterday, we read a story about Ruby's Chinese New Year (Le Nouvel An Chinois de Ruby) and discovered that 2022 is the Year of the Tiger. We are planning on creating some lovely Tiger artwork this afternoon! We were fortunate to have 4 days of beautiful weather this week, and we were able to get outdoors to play for an hour each of those days. So much fun! |
