April is poetry month, and after reading some poems aloud, Ms. Borden helped guide each Kindergarten class through a series of prompts to create their very own poem. We were assigned orange as our inspiration colour for our poem, and together, students were able to share their ideas to write a collaborative poem. We also had some visitors from Let's Talk Science join us yesterday for an interactive presentation called "Dynamic Dinos." Students were able to play pretend paleontologist and search all over the cafeteria for different dinosaur "bones" which we then worked together to rebuild it's skeleton. Students learned the difference between herbivores and carnivores, and used play-doh, toothpicks, and beads to create their very own dinosaur. They were encouraged to be as creative as possible, because, while humans have discovered many dinosaur fossils, we'll never know for certain exactly what they looked like!
