In April, our class participated in a government-sponsored art contest for World Oceans Day. The theme of this year's contest was "Our Ocean - Our Future." We discussed the consequences of pollution on aquatic animals and plants and brainstormed ideas of how we could represent this theme in a creative way through our art.
A couple of weeks ago, I received word from the committee informing me that the poster of one of my students was selected as the Grade 5 winner! Congratulations to Paige F! Today, she was presented with her prize - which included lots of cool Ocean-themed gear! Jonah P. was also selected as a runner-up for the Grade 5 posters and received a cool bag! Way to go! I am so proud!
